RunPrivate is designed around data minimisation: your running and health data should not need to come to us for the app to work.

Last updated: 14 August 2026Contact: ceo@runprivate.app

RunPrivate is built around a simple principle: your run is your data.

We designed RunPrivate so that we do not need to operate a backend that receives or stores your running, GPS, health or fitness data.

1. Who we are

RunPrivate is currently presented under the RunPrivate name.

Legal operator: RunPrivate Ltd, 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA, United Kingdom

Contact: Chief Executive Officer, RunPrivate
ceo@runprivate.app

2. What RunPrivate does

RunPrivate allows you to record a running activity, monitor your pace and receive haptic pace alerts. To provide those features, the app may process data on your devices including:

  • location and GPS route;
  • distance and pace;
  • workout duration;
  • steps and active energy/calories;
  • heart rate and other workout information where available and authorised by you.

This information is processed on your devices to provide the app’s functionality. RunPrivate does not operate a server that receives your running, GPS, health or fitness data.

3. Apple Health

On supported Apple devices, RunPrivate can integrate with Apple Health through HealthKit. You decide whether RunPrivate is permitted to access or save supported information through Apple’s permission controls and RunPrivate’s settings.

RunPrivate only asks for HealthKit permissions needed for functionality you choose to use. Information you choose to save to Apple Health is handled by Apple under Apple’s terms and privacy practices. You can review or revoke permissions using Apple’s privacy and Health settings.

4. Health Connect

If an Android/Wear OS version of RunPrivate is released with Health Connect support, the same principle will apply: supported health information will be written only where you grant the relevant permissions and choose to save it. This section does not imply that the Android version is currently available.

5. Location

RunPrivate may use your device’s location services while recording a run to calculate information such as route, distance and pace. Location information used for the run is processed on your devices. We do not receive your run location or GPS route.

You can control RunPrivate’s location access using your device’s privacy settings. Some running features may not work correctly if required location access is disabled.

6. Information we do not collect through the app

RunPrivate does not require an account and is designed not to collect or receive through RunPrivate-operated servers:

  • your running history;
  • your GPS routes or location history;
  • your HealthKit or Health Connect workout data;
  • advertising identifiers;
  • analytics about your running activity.

RunPrivate does not use your running or health data for advertising, profiling or marketing.

7. No advertising or behavioural tracking

RunPrivate does not use advertising trackers to follow you across apps or websites. We do not sell your running, location or health information.

We can’t sell your running data. We don’t have it.

8. Information stored on your devices

RunPrivate may store settings and information locally on your devices where necessary to operate the app. This may include target pace, tolerance, unit preferences and choices about saving workout information.

Local information remains under the control of your device. Information separately saved to Apple Health or, where supported in future, Health Connect is managed through those systems and may remain there after RunPrivate is removed.

9. Website technical data

This website is designed without advertising cookies or third-party analytics. It is hosted with Fasthosts Internet Ltd. Like any website, Fasthosts necessarily receives technical request information — such as IP address, browser type and version, operating system and device information — to deliver and secure the site.

Fasthosts retains this kind of server log and temporary storage data for a limited period, typically ranging from a few days up to a maximum of 60–90 days depending on the specific security or operational need, after which it is not kept. See Fasthosts' own privacy notice for full detail.

RunPrivate does not use that technical information to build advertising profiles or track visitors across sites.

10. Support communications

If you email us, you voluntarily provide your email address and the contents of your message. We use that information to respond, investigate problems, improve RunPrivate and maintain appropriate records.

Our lawful basis for ordinary support correspondence is our legitimate interest in providing support and maintaining the app. Where correspondence is necessary to perform a contract with you, we may also rely on contractual necessity.

Please do not send health information, GPS routes or other sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary to resolve an issue.

We aim to delete routine support correspondence when it is no longer reasonably needed, normally within 12 months, unless a longer period is required for legal, security or dispute-resolution purposes.

11. Sharing

RunPrivate does not send your running or health data to RunPrivate or its developer. Where the app allows supported data to be saved to Apple Health or a future Health Connect integration, that happens only according to permissions and choices you control.

12. Security and data minimisation

RunPrivate is designed to minimise transmission of personal information away from your devices. Where the app interacts with protected operating-system services, access is governed by the permissions and security mechanisms those platforms provide.

No software can guarantee absolute security, but avoiding unnecessary collection is a core part of RunPrivate’s design.

13. Your rights

Where UK data-protection law applies to personal data we actually hold, you may have rights including access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, depending on the circumstances. You may also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

Because RunPrivate does not maintain an account or server-side running/health history, we generally cannot retrieve or delete running data that we never received.

To exercise a right relating to information we do hold, such as support correspondence, contact ceo@runprivate.app.

14. Children

RunPrivate is a general-purpose fitness application and is not specifically directed at children. We do not knowingly operate user accounts or collect children’s running or health histories through RunPrivate servers.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if RunPrivate’s functionality, legal requirements or privacy practices change. Any updated version will be published here with a revised “Last updated” date. If a future version materially changes how personal information is collected or used, we will provide any notices or choices required by applicable law.
